I've spent a few hrs reading all over google for info on this, found quiet a bit, but I've decided I want to ask the more direct answer.

I have a GTX 260/216. I can get a HD 5770 CF for $170 and then sell my GTX 260/216 for $80 (hopefully). I have this little itch to mess around with bitcoins. But it's not a must but I just like seeing that stupid mhash/s # increase. lol.

Or should I just wait for 7xxx series? As I am planning to upgrade from my GTX 260 to play BF3 and D3. I know D3 isn't the big issue more like BF3.

Any ideas?

You'll definetly be better waiting for the 28nm 7000 series like am going to do, 5770 is still the best for its price, i have it and i like it a lot so much that i finished witcher 2 at playable fps overclocked to 950/1400. However, i don't think is worth it because the card is soon to be a 2 year old card in a few months they be releasing the 7000 series. Or the other thing if you can't wait is get a 6870 for about 175 it outperforms the cf 5770.

Okay so traffic was worse than I thought...

I guess my signature isn't working yet. Alright here's my computer's stats:
i5 760 (oc - 3.4)
GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
2x4GB GSkill 1600
320GB, WD Caviar Black W, WD Caviar Green WD20EARS 2TB
Thermaltake TR2 TRX-650M 650W
Thermaltake V5 Black Edition Mid-Tower
ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU

That 6870 does look nice and way better deal. I was thinking of only spending about no more than $100 before my upgrade which is when the 7000 series comes out.

But exactly when is the 7000 series coming out? I know Q4 but any specific dates? Maybe if I know a more accurate date I can wait it out. Do you guys think it's a waste to do a upgrade of $100 before the 7000?

Edit*
I guess adding your signature only adds to new posts not old.

Lol ya I figured out the signature. Also realized it's limited so you can't use enter to make it more readable.

This is a lot better. After the rebate , $5 discount and shipping and tax it's $188.02 the subtract my card for roughly $70 - $80. and I've spent roughly $108.02 - $118.02. Not bad and when I do upgrade I could either sell or rig a dummy video plug on this 6870. That 28nm looks enticing. I'm extremely tempted.....
